      Normally, I write to Hotohori when something is REALLY bugging me, but I already ranted to him yesterday. Actually, I want to thank you. Listening to your song "Mizu Kagami" kept me from breaking stuff. I've had an awful day. Not that anything that big happened, but all these little things that added up all of which I won't be mentioning.

      It started out a good day. I got up on time without parental assistance, I had no trouble getting my stuff together as I did most of it the night before, and I selected my outfit quickly as I was waiting for the weather to be cold enough to wear it.

      Last January I think it was, I found out the telltale signs that I was going to have a bad day. One of those was early in the morning things go TOO smoothly. Maybe Zodiac isn't the complete cr*p Mom writes it off for. Cancers are greatly affected by the moon's cycle, and I always have my bad days when the moon is wanning. I wish I'd remembered before because in my P.E. class, first period, we went power walking and for once, I was towards the front of the group because all the fast kids complained it was too cold. This isn't just good, for me it's one of those things that only happens if h*ll freezes over. In second period choir, we went through our songs and made it without looking at our sheet music.

      Now your asking where this went wrong, ne? That was in third period, French class. School pictures were finally being handed out. I was really anxious because on my school ID my picture turned out great, and I wanted to trade with my friends. The student teacher handed me my envelope, but instead of seeing my pictures, I got a slip of pink paper that said: "We regret we are unable to deliver your school picture package. Your picture package did not meet our quality standards."

      I was so mad, I couldn't think. I cried. Childish? Maybe, but when you consider the fact that basically what they're saying is "We regret to inform you that no matter how great your picture was, we f*cked it up/lost it" WHATEVER! I've been crying on and off all day. My head hurts, I'm tired, I'm mad (I sound like a five-year-old with this list), I'm suffering a really bad mood swing, and I've still got homework. What did I do, d*mmit?! I don't deserve this! I'm going to go off and cry again now.

      Hi, sorry that i did not write to you for such a long time! I am too busy with my end of year examinations this few weeks. I have already completed my English, Chinese and Science paper, but there are still more to come. I will be taking my literature paper tomorrow and Mathematics Paper 1 on Friday, Geography and Mathematics Paper 2 will be on next week.

      By the way I have completed my Third Language Paper as well, which is Japanese. I have just started Japanese this year as my third language, it is not a compulsory subject, so I am thinking if I should continue studying Japenese next year. The lessons are after school, so i have to spent extra time going to the language centre and the language centre is quite far from my house as well.

      I do like the subject and with Chinese as foundation, it is easier to pick up as well as many kanji resemble chinese characters. The only problem is that taking up this subject is very time consuming. Do you have any suggestions?

      I totally understand how you felt when Miaka rejected you. But for me it's different. You never exactly had her. My case involves a boy I was friends with. (I'll warn you now, this is a memory-filled rant) When I was 3 1/2 years old, we'd just moved to Connecticut. New house, new neighbors, and a new preschool that was literally in the neighborhood. First day of school I met him near a chest of dress up clothes. Eh, Isaac was always a little weird. Just like me. No really. JUST like me. We're both Cancer rabbits. We were so alike it scared our parents. Back then he lived about a five minute drive away from me, so my imouto and I would visit them about once a week, or he and his little brother would visit us. We played Robin Hood a lot. The year after it was Power Rangers. Once we were playing hide-and-seek in the basement, and chose the same hiding place. We got bored waiting... first kiss at age five. We never did it again because if our parents found out they would've killed us.

      We got older, our love of Power Rangers wanned, he moved away to a town about 30 minutes from me. He started up a love for Spiderman and I for Sailor Moon. Even though our opinions had changed, we were still always there for each other. I saw him through when his cat died, and he saw me through fifth grade when he was pretty much the only friend I had. In a childish way, I guess I fell in love with him. I used to hug him every time we saw each other. I barely did that with any boy, including my cousins.

      When I was ten or eleven, I don't remember which, he moved to New Jersey. Three HOURS away. I missed him a lot but we'd still see each other every once in a while. By then we were playing Nintendo 64 on our get togethers. Only problem was, he was becoming a guy, I was becoming a girl, and the only game that we both liked, Mortal Kombat, was taboo in their house. I could feel that we were growing apart, but we were still friends.

      I moved to Washington in January 2000, and we had absolutely no contact for nearly six months. Then Mom told me that we would be going to Europe in June, that Paris trip I told you about, but first we'd be going to New York for a few days. We flew in and had a day of roaming around including a trip to the Empire State Building, Twin Towers(WAAAHHH!!!!), and Chinatown(Where I bought a Fushigi Yuugi poster!). The next day we met Isaac and his family for dinner at a restaurant the boys had picked, so I knew this was bound to be interesting.

      Some say that puberty is a time of growing up. I call it a time of bizzare metamorphosis. And DAMN, was my theory correct. I was no longer taller than him. Indeed he was a good six inches over me. His voice had changed, and he'd slimmed down. I hugged him like old times, and we had a very interesting conversation. But then it shifted to:

"So got a boyfriend yet?"
"Nah! Got a girlfriend?"
"Not yet, but I know what I'm looking for."
"What does THAT mean?!"

      I'm almost ashamed to say it, but I was crushed. At that moment I knew it was all over. We weren't friends anymore. That happened over a year ago, but when I see a picture of him, I can't help but remember. It hurt so bad that he'd said something like that about me, sick as it was. For ten years he was my best friend. My parents and relatives all say I'm very pretty, but... then I remember what he said. *Curls up next to him and starts crying* Boys have never exactly been the nicest to me, most of them have been complete jerks. Why did the one guy I ever liked THAT way, have to say that? H*ll, why are some guys just such B*ST*RDS?!

      Ok, this is going to take a while and i'm sorry for asking you guys such a long question, but i have no idea what to do. I'm going to try to ask you without my personal opinions. Please tell me what you think, even if you think i'm wrong. (To get rid of some of the confusion i'm just going to call the two people involved X and Y----i also just got done with my algebra hw)

      Anyways, a week ago X (girl) got asked to Homecoming, but this was like on really short notice, so she asked Y (girl) to do her hair because she was doing another girl's hair also. So the day we all went to Y's house and were prepared to do both of their hairs. So first we did the other girl and spent an hour and a half, but she ended up not liking it. We were about to do it over and we had like an hour-hour and a half to redo her hair and do X's hair. I honestly knew we had enough time, but X all of a sudden started to say how we're not going to have enough time and how her hair is going to look horrible. She then said she should just do the other girl's hair so X's hair could get done (this was making Y feel really bad because of the way she put it.) So we had like 45 minutes left and X starts bursting into tears screaming at everybody b/c she thought we didn't have enough time. She threw a mirror across the room and made all of us feel stupid. She wouldn't even let us try, she kept yelling and screaming. So FINALLY she calmed down. She was telling Y what to do and how do it, but the problem was, she wouldn't even let her finish an idea, she would yell at her and tell her she was doing it wrong. So me and my other friend ran all the way to her house to get some hair things (and it's a loooong way) we came back and X was about done, acting like nothing had happened and how perfect she knew she was.

      Anyways, now Y doesn't want to be friends with X (and i can tell why) because this event just made her fed up. She was already tired of hearing X bragging all the time so this made her even angrier.

      I was talking to X during English and telling her how mean she was being and that she should try to apologize to Y, but then she tell me this exact quote, "You know what Cindy? We're all a bunch of stupid kids, but at least I'M mature enough to admit it" (this is coming from the 15 year old throwing a tantrum.) She told the story to all of her friends but somehow "forgot" to mention that she was crying and screaming. Y was talking to someone and that person asked why she was mad at X for no reason, so Y had to explain about the whole throwing a fit thing.

      I'm really sorry for taking up so much space and this is probably really confusing. Even I don't understand some of it. I would love it so much if you guys could just give me your opinion on this please! *Hugs all the seishi* Thanks so much!

      *sniffle sniffle* Class photos came back today. Mine looks TERRIBLE. It seems like I tried too hard to look non-nervous, and my face is stretched into an odd smile.       Gargh, alas! After reading Azusa's first letter to you, I immediately hopped into WordPad and wrote a massive letter defending your honor and explaining why so many people love you so much...but, alas, I suppose it shall never be read. ^_^. Ah, but that's all right. I'm glad Azusa has apologized, and I'm very glad all is forgiven. :)

      Aaaaaaaanyway. I listened to a very interesting woman speak last night, whom you may find interesting, as well. Her name is Daphne Scholinski, and she's a transgendered individual who was committed when she was only fifteen for "gender identity disorder." She was forced to stay in a mental hospital for three years, forced to wear makeup and dresses and talk and act and move like a girl, and if she didn't, she would lose "points" and be denied basic rights and freedoms. A few years after she got out, she wrote a book on her experiences, called _The Last Time I Wore A Dress_, and so now she spends most of her time touring from college to college, speaking to students about her experiences, and also doing her professional job, which is painting.

      But, anyway. A lot of what she said really struck home for me, particularly when she addressed the kinds of negative stereotype people associate with those who crossdress, or those who feel like they don't belong in the gender into which they've been born. She also told interesting stories about how--due to her looks--she has to use the men's room nearly everywhere she goes, or else women will scream, call the police, hit her with purses, etc. :)

      Daphne is truly an amazing woman, and I admire her a great deal, both for having the strength to come out of such a terrible experience basically unscathed...and, to have the courage to talk about it so openly to so many people.

      But, anyway, I seem to be rambling again. :) That's all right. I have to get ready for Japanese lecture in a few minutes, anyway, so I'd better wrap it up.

      One thing that Daphne talked about really got to me...and, that's the fact that "Gender Identity Disorder" is STILL considered a valid mental illness, and children all over the country are STILL being admitted to hospitals to be treated for it. Daphne is working, she told us, to have that disorder taken out of the American Psychiatric organization's vocabulary...but, it can't be an easy thing to do.

      HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO TELL YOU?!? It's not that easy to just *rise up from your past*! Nakago grew up in Kutou, he had no one to care for him. He had no one to help him through the tough times. I know all of you had help, you have no idea how hard it can be. Most of the Seiryuu seishi that turned out rotten had no one. Amiboshi and Suboshi were fine, they had each other. Soi-Nakago, she turned out pretty well too. Ashitare-gee, whadayou think? Miboshi-... ... .......don't ask me. Tomo-hm.....NO ONE.       Hello everybody!!! *glomps Chichiri, huggles Chiriko, and hands a rose to Hotohori* Guess what I'm going to be for Halloween? The yuki-onna! I found this pattern for a kimono at the fabric store, and at first I was going to be a ghost. So I went out and bought some white fabric for the costume, and then I remembered the story of the yuki-onna (it's my favorite Japanese legend) and realized it was perfect. So I'm going to be all snow-ghosty on Halloween. Do you have any tips for my costume? This is gonna be so great!

      It's always the best to make your own costume. I always have the one-up on my friends who either go out and buy a (completely unoriginal, might I add) costume, or throw one together from clothes and monster makeup. Since my mom sews, I don't think I've ever had to put up with a store-bought costume. ^_^ It's so great.

      Think it's a little early to be talking about Halloween? I don't. Hey, Chiriko! Since you're the only one who's still young enough to be trick-or-treating....well, kinda....if you say "trick or treat", I'll give you all this candy! ^.^ Yes, yes, you get this from fangirls all the time, don't you.       Do you know if there are any temporary ways to dye your hair an outrageous color? I want to dye my hair bright red, but I don't want half my hair brown and half my hair fire-truck colored while I wait for it to grow out. I have a blond friend who did this with black hair. It looked atrocious, and it didn't help that she was a goth, which looks incredibly stupid anyway. It's called SUNLIGHT, people...or will you disintegrate if you come out in the day? >_<

      Anyway, that's completely beside the point. The point is, I want to dye my hair red without being a flamehead for the rest of my life.

      Do you want to hear an interesting related story? I might have told this one already, but on the last day of middle school, I took bright red hairspray and sprayed my hair red. It looked so cool, I was all dressed in red with my tan trenchcoat....I so ruled the school. Anyway, I was going to homeroom when my teacher stopped me. She said she liked my hair, and they probably wouldn't have a problem with it, but I might wanna go check with the office about it. So I went down to the front office, and the lady there's like "Hair, right?" So I nod, and she's like "Well, you'll have to wash it out." And I spent all of homeroom with my head in the nurse's office sink washing out my beautiful red hairspray. On the last freakin' day of school. My mom knew it was against the rules to have weird hair, but it was the last day of school, and she even HELPED me with the hair spray because maybe on the last day they could take a joke. But no.

      Anyway, that's completely beside the point. *deja vu!* Get back to me on the hair thing! And I swear! The red hair is NOT so I can cosplay as Touga Kiryuu for Halloween! That's what all my friends are asking me! ^^;; I'll tell EVERYONE about my costume right now. Mata ne!

      CHICHIRI IS MINE! ...okay, I'm done now. What do you guys have against the Seiryuu seishi? I know.... Fanfiction has addled my mind, but still.... I have to write all of these AU Tomo fics and stuff because no one likes him.... He's not scary.....not much anyway. It's *all* Seiryuu's fault. He was the one the screwed the lives of all of the seishi. *sniff* Poor Nakkie-poo-chan.

      .....though Miboshi seems to be just evil, what about his past? He might has been as nice as you once upon a time. Time does.....things.....to people. Things that are not always kind. Blame Seiryuu. And blame yourselves too. You cannot just blame the enemy. Suboshi was wrong to kill Tamahome's family. Very wrong. But it twas you who made the first move there. You must realize how much summoning Seiryuu meant to them. Just like Suzano and the Byakko seishi. You saw them as evil, but they were following a tactic while you followed another. Seiryuu is the god of war. Konan was a wonderful place to grow up for most of you, minus Chichiri and Mitsukake, though even they had many good times. Can you imagine the turmoil that occurred in Kutou? Watching your parents and neighbors slaughtered before you? Watching people laugh at you and not understand why? Killing your own parents because you could not control your seishi power? Being sold away from your family? Having your parents abandon you for dead? Imagine what that would do to you.

      Tamahome, you had a loving family, even though your mother was dead and your life was hard, you loved them all didn't you? You didn't mind working like you did, did you? You didn't mind not looking for a girlfriend, did you?

      Hotohori, you ascended to the throne at a young age and was a very lonely child, but you loved your people, didn't you? And your people loved you too, because you were so kind. And then you had the Suzaku no Miko. Your whole life, *she* was your beacon of hope. You were never truly alone, were you?

      Nuriko, you did lose your littlest sister whom you loved very much, I am sure. But after her death, you had your older brother, didn't you? And you went on a glorious adventure and found Hotohori and Miaka, the two most important people in your group, right? Your life was never very difficult was it?

      Tasuki, yes, your family was a true horror, but after you ran away, you had a huge family. The Mt. Reikaku bandits, right? And Kouji and your leader too. I'm sure growing up there was very joyful, wasn't it?

      Chiriko, there's not much about you, but you had a good family and was never really like a child, but you were happy, weren't you? You life wasn't too traumatic, was it?

      Mitsukake, yes, you lost your family to a flood, but then you had Shouka all those years. Shouka's death must have shaken you horrible, but you had the company of Tama-neko until the seishi came, ne?

      Chichiri.... So what if your best friend stole a kiss from your fianci. So what if you could have caused Hikou's death. So what if you were so busy writing Hikou's death proclamation to save your family and Kouran from the flood. All those years with them as your friends must have been blissful. You life was hard, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been, ne?

      Now, listen to the Seiryuu side.

      Nakago, his killed his mother on accident. He was taken to Kutou and grew up under that emperor's eye. Not to great, is it? And before that, he lived in fear, because he was a Hin. And he was too young to understand the amount of prejudice set upon him. Imagine how much his personality would have changed if he grew up with his mother and lead a happy childhood, even in fear of prejudice.

      Soi, being sold by her own family. Being in love with someone who had never been taught to love. Dying for that someone that had never once uttered 'I love you,' for her. She herself was a good person, good enough to put on your team, but it was her eternal gratitude to Nakago that kept her from being like Amiboshi.

      Ashitare, he was born the way he was. He was in a freak show, for gods sake, underfed, whipped, even after Nakago saved him. He trusted Nakago so much, and then he was killed by Nuriko and Nakago. What if he had been born just a wolf? A proud creature of the forest. Or just human? A happy child? Or even born just as he was, but more cared for. How much that would have changed him?

      Miboshi..... No comment. Though maybe his past turned him evil, I have no grouds here.

      Amiboshi and Suboshi, both would have turned out fine had not if been for their loyalty to one another. They joined the Seiruu seishi because the wanted the best for one another. Suboshi would have been more than happy to help the Suzaku seishi like his Aniki wanted if only he wasn't in love with Yui. Yes, their family and friends were killed by Kutou, but that only strengthened their bonds to each other.

      Tomo.... He was abandoned as a child. Do you realize how unwanted and unloved that would make him feel? That makeup is much like Chichiri's mask. It might have begun as just a way to hide his emotions, but it eventually became a need, he couldn't feel safe, strong without it. What is, just what if his family had wanted him? Or a family found him and raised him like Kaika's parents did?

      Just think about this. Think about it hard. Don't answer until you can get the full depth of my message, then tell me. Put yourselves in their shoes.
