War isn't something I support; to me, using physical force to get someone to do what you want is only a cause for further escalation of violence, tension, hatred... The world has enough of those already at all levels from local to global. For a while I argued from the point that it is not Iraq, but Saddam Hussein that poses the threat Americans are so afraid of; however, the more I hear, the more I begin to think that as long as Saddam is the president and dictator of Iraq with 100% of the "popular vote", weapons of mass destruction, and his people in complete fear of disobeying him, Iraq as a whole is a problem. Demo, then there's the issue of if the U.S. doing the right thing, then why is the rest of the world disagreeing? There's something very wrong with that... this war is (supposedly) for a just cause, yet only America seems to want it to happen. But the issue, I believe, that keeps me anti-war is the idea that hundreds, thousands of lives on both sides could be lost, all for the purpose of getting rid of one man. What if this causes further upset in the Middle East? What if other enemies of America deside they'll attack us before we attack them like with what's happening now? Nya... I'm afraid... Dear Mitsukake,Hi! I think I mentioned in one of my letters that I am the first honorable mention in our batch's Top Five students. And it has been a tradition of the school that the first honorable mention must lead the Pledge of Loyalty--- onstage! I easily get stage fright. In fact, during our rehearsal, I was so nervous that I looked like a total idiot onstage. What's more, some people were laughing at me. You see, that's the reason why I get stage fright. I'm afraid that I might make a mistake and people will laugh at me. Aside from that, I'm also afraid of looking like an idiot on stage but most often I end up that way :(. The even scarier thing is that if I make a mistake, I may never live it down, especially since lots of parents will be watching me, and I'm the first honorable mention. Dear Hotohori,I don't really know which one of you to ask about love advice. But I think you might know a thing or two, so I might as well ask you! :) So, here's the gist: Then in third grade, I was switched to a different classroom (since in third grade, they always switch students to different classrooms). I didn't get to talk to him much for two years, until last year (fifth grade) when we ended back as classmates. Since we didn't talk for a long time, I didn't know what to say when we ended up classmates again. He had new friends, and so had I, since my new classmates were really nice. At that time my infatuation for him was just beginning. I gave him things on his birthday, and he gave me a heart-shaped pillow with "You're Special!" written on it. We weren't really close, but we did talk to each other sometimes. But this year, he's been hanging around with this girl (let's call her Deanna). Many people don't like Deanna mainly because at the age of thirteen, she has already grown to be a promiscuous and flirty young girl. She likes hanging around boys a lot, and when she sees one she likes, she clings on to him, making all the girls jealous and the more reserved students feeling disgusted at her behavior. Aside from that, she REALLY looks haughty and stuck-up (believe me, I'm not making this up). She and the Class President have been pretty close lately, and I don't know why, but I'm getting jealous. Some of my classmates who have had their crushes falling head over heels with Deanna have bashed her and called her a whore, prostitute, ho, etc. They're encouraging me to write graffiti on the girls' bathroom that "Deanna is a so-and-so", but I don't want my reputation to be tarnished, so I didn't do it. I've confided it to my friend and she said I did the right thing. I know I did. Now the Class President's best friend told me that my suspicions were right. She liked the CP (Class President) and he was infatuated with her. His friend also told me that Deanna sort of looked down on me. Well, do you know any ways of getting the CP to like me, even a little? I know communication is a good way, but do you know any ways to break the ice? To renew our old friendship? Well; about one day to two days later I get this e-mail from a 24 year old chinese male,and I liked his picture so I clicked yes and because he lives so close to me. Well; he paid for a membership type thingy so we can e-mail each other back and fourth,and I've gotten his aim screenname,and he got mine and ever since then,we've been talking to each other,and everything, and we finally decide to meet. Well; we ended up meeting on Saturday the 15th, (of course it just had to rain -_-;;;),and well he was there first and I arrived shortly after,when we met he gave me a hug which shocked me big time. Well; we were waiting for my friend's Judy and her boyfriend to get there,so we decided to walk around the mall a bit,and everything,and to my surprise I was talking to him as if I've known him forever or something,well we ended up going back to the beginning of the mall; and Judy called me several times,and I talked to her,and told me to get the movie times,well we did and he drove me to the theatre and everything and he was such a gentlemen!!! Dear Tamahome,I have a problem with this boy that I went to prom with last year. It was our fist date and afterwards he said he didn't want to date me steadily cause the school year was over, we were graduating, we'd never see each other again, it wouldn't work out and so on. The whole night it was obvious that he liked me and I liked him but for some reason that wasn't enough for him to want to try a relationship. Now, ten months later, he just e-mails me out of nowhere. Seems he was asking around about me and one of my friends gave him my e-mail address. We IM and beat around the bush avoiding any kind of romantic questions, he asks what have I been up to trying to figure out if I have a boyfriend but doesn't ask directly. We went out in a large group to see a movie and then went to dinner with said group. He drove me home promised to call, and hasn't for five days. Another friend talked to him and told me he said he was scared to call cause he thought he might get my Dad on the phone or something and get in trouble. He's admitted he likes me, but not to my face. When he's around me he won't talk cause he thinks he's going to say something I don't like and I'll get mad at him. He's being a wimp!!!!
